…..at the end of 2024, hubby, myself, and our two 4-legged kids, took a roadtrip…..we pulled our home on wheels to Van Buren, Arkansas to spend Christmas with family, not realizing we would be cutting the trip short to make sure we were able to return home safely before inclement weather might stop us from getting there. We spent almost four weeks on the road with beautiful sunny weather for most of the whole trip (not mentioning the 19 degrees at night in a lot of places) but we were so very glad we took that trip for many reasons.
It was a rough start to the new year with loss of family and friends but we spent time at home together with memories, staying busy and getting home things done, while preparing me to take the trip of a lifetime with my sister to Ireland.
She and I left on April 2nd and returned to the states on the 16th. It was an amazing tour…..an amazing “holiday” with lots of “craic”…pronounced “crack” (fun as the Irish call it). The weather was beautiful (the locals didn’t want us to leave because they said we brought the sunny weather with us), we saw a beautiful country with beautiful buildings, learned lots about the culture and the history, visited pubs (which there are aplenty!), watched Celtic dancing, saw lots of sheep, and sang Irish songs. It was a little sad to leave but we were ready and I was ready to be back home to my hubby and our fur monsters!
Now it’s time to get ready for the 2025 Driftwood Beadery season and a few more events and adventures. I appreciate all of the ongoing support for my business and the craft that I love building for you!
